What's painted on the card

The 1909 knight rides a horse that rears up on its back legs. Over his armour he wears a tunic covered in salamanders, the same curling lizards the Page wears. He holds a wand out in front of him. Behind him, pyramids rise from the desert. The horse is caught mid-leap, not walking or waiting. Everything in the picture says go. The knight is brave and keen, but a rearing horse is hard to steer, and that's the other half of the story.

Knight of Wands upright

When the Knight of Wands rides into a reading, things get moving. You may feel a sudden rush of energy and confidence, the urge to quit waiting and just do it. It's a great card for starting a trip, a move, a creative push or anything that needs courage.

Inside you, the Knight is the part that acts first and thinks second. That part is valuable. It gets you out the door, makes the bold call, and doesn't let fear win. Use it now. Just keep one hand on the reins: a fast start is wonderful, but you also need enough planning to reach the end.

This card can bring change of scene, like travel or moving house, or a period of adventure. Expect events to move quickly, and expect to enjoy the ride.

Knight of Wands reversed

Reversed, the Knight's energy goes in too many directions. You might rush into decisions, start fights you don't need, or drop a plan the moment it gets boring. Impatience can cost you more than waiting would.

It can also show the opposite: energy that's blocked, so you feel restless and stuck. Either way, the fix is focus. Pick one direction, slow down enough to look where you're going, and see it through. If the reversed Knight describes someone in your life, expect big entrances and sudden exits. Their energy is real, but plans made with them need a backup.

In love

Upright

In love, the Knight of Wands brings passion, excitement and quick attraction. Someone may sweep into your life with charm and energy. It's thrilling, but this card shows the chase more than the years that follow. Enjoy it, and notice whether the interest lasts.

Reversed

Reversed, it can point to a partner who is warm one day and distant the next, a rushed romance, or someone who loses interest fast. Don't let the excitement hide warning signs, like promises that keep changing.

How someone feels about you

This person is strongly attracted to you, maybe intensely so. The Knight of Wands suggests passion, excitement and a wish to act. They may pursue you boldly or make quick moves. But their feelings can be more about the thrill than about steady commitment. Watch how they act over time, not just at the start.

Career and work

Upright

At work, the Knight of Wands favours bold moves: pitching a new idea, changing jobs, starting a business, or taking on a challenge that needs energy. Act with confidence, and back it with enough planning to follow through.

Reversed

Reversed, you may be rushing, jumping between projects or clashing with others out of impatience. Slow down and finish one thing well.

Money

Upright

With money, the Knight of Wands can bring quick spending, often on adventure or big ideas. Enjoy it, but check the numbers before you leap.

Reversed

Reversed, impulsive spending or rushed money decisions are the risk. Sleep on any big purchase first.

Yes or no

Leans yes. A knight on a leaping horse is all forward motion, which points toward yes for action, travel and change. Just don't rush past the details.

The card's advice

Be bold and act now, but keep hold of the reins. Courage works best with a direction.

Knight of Wands in Starbound's spreads

  • The challenge

In A Quick Look, the Knight as the challenge means haste. You, or someone involved, wants to act before the situation is ready. Energy isn't the problem; aim is. Take a breath before the leap.

  • Two Paths: Path one: what it offers

Path one offers adventure when the Knight of Wands appears there. Choosing it would bring excitement, movement and a fresh start, perhaps somewhere new. It may be less stable than the other path, so weigh what you need.

  • The Crossroads: What's shifting

Under What's shifting in The Crossroads, this card shows a sudden burst of momentum. A slow phase is giving way to action, maybe a move, a trip or a bold decision. Ride it, but steer.

Questions about Knight of Wands

What kind of person is the Knight of Wands?

Someone confident, adventurous and full of energy: often charming, funny and spontaneous. They love a challenge and hate sitting still. On a bad day they can be impatient, restless or quick to move on. You might meet this Knight in someone you date, a friend who always has a new plan, or yourself on the day you suddenly want to drop everything and go.

Does the Knight of Wands mean a move or travel?

It often does. A knight on a leaping horse in a far-off desert is a strong picture of travel, moving house or a big change of scene. It suggests the move could come quickly and feel exciting, even if it's a little chaotic. Pack light, stay flexible, and check the practical details before you set off.

Is the Knight of Wands a player in love?

Not always, but it can warn about that. The Knight loves the thrill of the chase, so the passion is real but may not last. Upright, it can be a lively start that grows. Reversed, it more often shows someone who moves on quickly. Look at actions over time.
