What's painted on the card

Lions are carved into the arms of the stone throne where the 1909 Queen of Wands sits. She holds a wand in one hand and a sunflower in the other. At her feet sits a black cat, looking straight out at us. She faces forward too, open and steady. The lions show her courage, and the sunflower turns her warmth into something you can see. The black cat adds a quieter note: she has a private, independent side, and she doesn't explain everything.

Queen of Wands upright

The Queen of Wands brings confidence that warms the room. When she appears, you're asked to stand tall, speak up and be seen. It's a strong card for leading, performing, starting a business, or simply showing up as your full self.

In a reading about others, she often stands for a real person: someone charismatic, generous and busy, who runs many things at once and still makes time for friends. People are drawn to her. She can be fierce when crossed, but she's rarely cruel. She is loyal and fun, and she expects you to keep up.

When she describes you, she points to the self-belief you already carry, even if you've been hiding it. Maybe you've been hiding your talents to avoid attention. This Queen says that your warmth and your drive are gifts. Use them, and let the people around you feel them.

Queen of Wands reversed

Reversed, the Queen's light flickers. Confidence turns into insecurity, and you may feel jealous of others, need constant reassurance, or snap at people when you feel unseen. Sometimes she shows burnout: doing everything for everyone until there's nothing left.

Ask where your spark went. Did you give it all away? Did someone's success make you doubt your own? Come back to what makes you feel alive, and give yourself the warmth you give others. Your confidence returns when you stop comparing.

In love

Upright

In love, the Queen of Wands is attractive, warm and self-assured. Single, you're likely to draw attention by just being yourself. In a relationship, she brings passion, loyalty and some heat in arguments. She wants a partner who respects her independence.

Reversed

Reversed, jealousy or insecurity may be causing tension. Talk about the fear directly, and trust your partner instead of checking up on them.

How someone feels about you

This person admires you and finds you magnetic. With the Queen of Wands, their feelings are warm, open and confident. They may be drawn to your energy and want to be around you. They also respect your independence. If they're the Queen themselves, they know what they want and may show interest boldly.

Career and work

Upright

At work, the Queen of Wands is a great sign for leadership, public roles and creative ventures. You can manage many things at once and inspire others. Take the visible role, and trust your ability to lead.

Reversed

Reversed, you may feel overlooked, overworked or competitive with colleagues. Set limits on your time, and claim credit calmly instead of fighting for it.

Money

Upright

With money, the Queen of Wands shows confidence and independence. You can earn through your own talents and make your own choices. Generosity is good; keep it balanced.

Reversed

Reversed, watch for spending to feel better, or to impress others. Your worth isn't measured by what you buy. Notice what you reach for when you feel low.

Yes or no

Leans yes. Her confidence tips the answer toward yes, most of all when the outcome depends on you stepping forward and asking for what you want.

The card's advice

Stand in your own light. Be confident, generous and bold, and stop shrinking to make others comfortable.
